The search committee for Louisburg College’s next president is continuing its deliberations and expects to recommend an individual to the Board of Trustees later this fall. More than 130 people applied for the position, and the committee today selected five qualified and experienced finalists for off-site interviews later this month.
Steve Brooks, committee chair, expressed his sense of excitement around the quality and character of the candidates, saying “while I was optimistic from the beginning that Louisburg College would attract a strong group of applicants, I have been delighted with the level of experienced leadership in our pool. Making decisions going forward is going to be extremely difficult, which is exactly what we hoped would be the case.”
The search committee anticipates choosing two or three of those interviewed to participate in visits to the campus, where they will meet with various constituencies of the College, including students, faculty, staff, and members of the community. At the conclusion of these campus visits the search committee will make its recommendation to the full Board of Trustees.
It is our intention, as has been the case from the beginning, to have a new leader in place in early 2018.
