Our College Town
Our College Town - Louisburg, North Carolina!
Louisburg, North Carolina is one of the best college towns in America - so says generations of Hurricanes who have matriculated in our quintessential small town in the heart of the Piedmont. Located in the geographic center of Franklin County, Louisburg is a short 25 minute drive to the Capital City of Raleigh, and provides our students access to some of the best Healthcare, Academic, Cultural, and Entertainment resources not only in North Carolina, but throughout the east coast of the United States.
Nestled on the banks of the Tar River, Louisburg was chartered in 1779 as the County seat of the newly formed Franklin County. The County was named after Benjamin Franklin who was serving as foreign minister to France at that time. Louisburg was named in honor of King Louis XVI of France who was supportive of our infant country throughout the Revolutionary War.
Today, Louisburg is a safe, friendly and welcoming community that is an ideal location for student academic success. The beautiful Main Street corridor is full of historic churches and oak lined sidewalks, not to mention the numerous dining and shopping opportunities throughout the community. Louisburg is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts with two river front parks, and students are encouraged to explore both the town and surrounding community during their time in the piedmont.
