440th Army National Band

Join the Tar River Center for History and Culture for a performance from the 440th Army National Guard Band, Thursday, May 25, at 7:00 p.m. in the Jones Performing Arts Center (JPAC) on the Louisburg College campus. Admission is free.

The band was activated in World War II as the 30th Infantry Division Band along with the rest of the North Carolina National Guard as the "Old Hickory Division." The 440th band performs for troops and their families and for the citizens of North Carolina at ceremonies, public concerts, and parades. They have earned numerous awards including Outstanding North Carolina National Guard unit and the Eisenhower trophy three times as an outstanding Army unit.
