Leadership Opportunities

Resident Advisors
Resident Advisors, or RAs, are paraprofessional staff members in Housing & Residence
Life. RAs are hired, trained, and supervised by the Resident Directors and Assistant
Directors.
RAs live on each floor in every residence hall on campus. They are on the frontline
when residential students need assistance, whether in response to an emergency or
crisis, or seeking campus resources and information.
RAs obtain a variety of important, transferable skills through frequent training.
Most importantly, RAs work to build positive residential communities that are inclusive,
as well as conducive to academic success. These young men and women, along with Residence
Life staff and Campus Safety, also have a great responsibility in safeguarding campus
policies to ensure that the residence halls are safe and secure.
