On March 23, Louisburg College Board of Trustees member, and former Louisburg Mayor and former NC General Assembly member, Lucy T. Allen, threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Hurricane's softball doubleheader against Pitt Community College.

Zoey Jones and Taylor McQueen accompanied Ms. Allen to the mound to assist while All-American Brianna Tucker caught the toss.

After the toss, the team gifted her a signed softball and batting helmet. Louisburg College beat Pitt Community College 8-0 for both games, and now boast a 36 game winning streak. The team is also ranked #4 in the Nation for DII NJCAA Softball (as of 4/3/23).
