Community Service
Embedded in the Louisburg College Mission is offering a supportive community for our students to grow into productive citizens. As a community related by faith to the United Methodist Church, service to others who are less fortunate than ourselves is a hallmark of the Hurricane Nation Spirit. Through community service, students gain awareness of the world around them and learn the true gift of making a difference in others’ lives. Louisburg College encourages every club and organization to participate in at least one community service event each semester. The Office of Student Engagement partners with the Office of Spiritual Life to build relationships with organizations in the community that have service opportunities available to Louisburg College students -see below.
Hurricane Outreach
Hurricane Outreach is a student-run organization that plans and implements on-and-off-campus community service events for the students, faculty, and staff. All Louisburg College students are welcomed and encouraged to join. Past community service events included:
- United Way Day of Caring
